Elementary After School Programs

Southminster School provides a variety of after school enrichment programs that appeal to our diverse student population. Classes register for Fall and Spring courses and vary by instructor availability and the level of student interest.

Should you have any questions regarding after school programming details, please contact Mrs. Pennix.

  • Karate

Karate has been a long-time offering at Southminster School and Master Williams does a fantastic job training his students beginning as young as Pre-Kindergarten!

  • Art Club

Art Club is geared towards the serious art student keen to develop their artistic skills and explore a wide variety of media. Potential projects include clay manipulation, watercolor, book binding, collage, etc.

  • Ensemble Choir

Gabriele Hodges, our school music teacher, has lead our Ensemble Choir through numerous ACSI competition wins. Students practice weekly for performances at retirement homes, area functions, and even singing the National Anthem at the Sugar Land Skeeters games!

  • Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots is a great physical activity for your children! Students will practice soccer skills outdoors (weather permitting) and have a "ball"!

    *Pre-K only

  • Sewing

This class is focused on needle-craft arts. Students will become familiarized with using a sewing machine, hand sewing, cross-stitching, embroidery, etc. This class is appropriate for students who can work independently and are motivated to try new and potentially difficulty techniques.

  • Dance

Dance is offered by Ms. Jorene. She works on basic technique with the little ones, and they always have an enjoyable time as "ballerinas"!

    *Pre-K-2nd grade only.
