Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)

The mission of the PTO is to guide and enhance school families' experiences through services and activities, which in turn enrich the experiences of the children. The goal of the PTO is to provide unity and fellowship for the parents of Southminster School. Throughout the school year the PTO hosts special events, fundraisers and a bi-annual gala. PTO fundraising efforts have provided over 8000 volumes for the library, new computer equipment for the lab and classrooms, furnishings and equipment for the Science Discovery Center,  and three sets of playground equipment. The PTO plays a vital role in the continued development and success of Southminster School. All parents of Southminster School are members of the PTO. The PTO is made up of four officers and ten committee chairs. The Head of School sits on the PTO as an ex-officio member. Each spring a new slate of officers and committee chairpersons are nominated and voted into office by the entire PTO. All parents are encouraged to become active members of this valued organization.
